Living In The Hands Of Time

Days go by like seconds,
similar to rain falling towards earth.
It only takes a glance to know what was,
and what is to come.We grow old as quick as we can remember,
the days when we were younger.
Wishing to not have been so oblivious,
to what was missed.

A dry well
that was once filled with Adam’s ale.
Never cherishing what was the simplest,
but at the time we thought was meaningless.
What a fool not to consider otherwise.

Times dearest affairs are given in life,
for our temporary convenience to enjoy.
Only to be taken advantage of,
overlooked by our ignorance.

When close to death,
to finally perceive,
what can never be ceased,
nor be rotated to turn counterclockwise,
nevermore.
