Success!!!

On June 20,2016 I received a letter from “The America Library Of Poetry “. I had sent them a poem of mine called “Sweet Serenity”  for a contest during April. Reading the letter it had said that I won the Divisions prize and Editors choice for my poem, which in total is a grand prize of $500, a laptop and being published in a book called the “Accomplished Of Poetry 2016” I have never felt so content in my life. I’m truly Blessed!!!!!!!!!!

Sweet Serenity

Warmth of the amber sun manifests downward upon a field of
shredded gold and chipped emeralds.
Pastel pigments paint the cotton spread sky,
eyes shimmer in reflection, stunned in admiration.
Caressing winds deposit ripples onto the glistening glaze of liquefied diamonds,
cupped by palms of earth that surrounds it.
Wind chimes resonate charming melodies from behind inner ears.
Gale whisking through supple hair and skimming across flushed cheeks.
Arms stretch back as the body begins to lay at rest on the landscape lawn.
Mind once blocked by the brick walls of human society,
now as opened as a jubilant smile.
Susurrus of the trees soothe every inter being within,
causing hued eyes to close unwillingly.
Forever dreaming of sleeping,
in a peacefully placed paradise.

Living In The Hands Of Time

Days go by like seconds,
similar to rain falling towards earth.
It only takes a glance to know what was,
and what is to come.We grow old as quick as we can remember,
the days when we were younger.
Wishing to not have been so oblivious,
to what was missed.

A dry well
that was once filled with Adam’s ale.
Never cherishing what was the simplest,
but at the time we thought was meaningless.
What a fool not to consider otherwise.

Times dearest affairs are given in life,
for our temporary convenience to enjoy.
Only to be taken advantage of,
overlooked by our ignorance.

When close to death,
to finally perceive,
what can never be ceased,
nor be rotated to turn counterclockwise,
nevermore.

Adolescent Teen

Things that are so irrelevant,
are what teenagers consider to be the important.
Things that can obviously be lived without,
but they continue to consider otherwise.
So much youthful potential wasted.
What a terrible tragedy that would be,
if they were to go through their life with the same mentality.
Pure ignorant are those teens,
who can’t see their own uneducated minds, lust, and immature stupidity.
Forget the puppy love and newly produced hormones,
which isn’t true reality.
Well then again, I guess only to an adolescent teen.
